Lip enhancement is easier to discuss when you distinguish volume, border definition, and the way your lips appear in motion. Those preferences can lead to different recommendations, so start with the change you actually want.
Look at your lips at rest and when you smile
Explain which feature bothers you and which you want preserved. Ask how a proposed treatment might affect both appearance and movement.
Discuss whether the goal is realistic for your anatomy and whether no treatment or another option makes more sense. Avoid using another person's lip shape as a promised outcome.
Discuss shape changes without assuming more overall volume
A concern about the border, one side, or the appearance during a smile may not be a request for fuller lips everywhere. Explain that distinction before a procedure is proposed. Ask what the plan would change and what it would preserve, including appearance in motion as well as at rest.
