Do not assume every color change is cosmetic

Tell the provider whether the area is new, changing, uncomfortable, or previously diagnosed. Ask whether it should be examined before cosmetic treatment.

Have the provider explain the proposed target and the limits of IPL for that concern. A clear assessment is more useful than a promise to erase every mark.
